The gated hotel complex BTDC maintains a sense of privacy and peace in the resort area of Nusa Dua, quite unlike other popular tourist destinations in southern Bali. Here, the gardens are manicured and the traffic is unusually orderly, and it's this slower pace that makes it the perfect holiday destination for families.

It's especially family friendly now with the recent opening of Surf and Turf Nusa Dua, a water park cum beach club nestled in a secluded cove along the Nusa Dua bay. Open daily, the venue features a beach club with swimming pool, restaurant & bar, fun water slides and Bali's first ever flow rider.

Water Slides & Space Bowl

The 6m high Water Slides at Surf and Turf will have you speeding down and landing with a splash! Little ones may want to be accompanied by an adult (the pool at the bottom has a depth of 1.7m) or be good swimmers themselves.

Another fun ride is the Space Bowl, which is even higher than the Water Slides. At 9.5m high, this thrilling ride ends in a circular bowl that has riders whizzing around before dumping them in the pool below.

Surf Rider

Surf and Turf Nusa Dua offers the first Surf Rider (also known as Flow Rider) in Bali. Created by a generator pushing water against an inclined surface, riders are challenged to stand on an "artificial wave" for as long as possible.

Although it looks easy, many talented surfers will tell you that it's not and it's actually skateboarders and snowboarders who have a better time at mastering the skill. No previous experience is necessary and instructors are always on hand to guide you through the steps and show you the proper technique.
