Popular Spots for Cycling in Bali 2017.10.23

Another fun activity you can do in Bali is cycling. Around the beach areas, country sides or through the green-lush rice terraces, you can experience them all in Bali. However, not every places in Bali can be your cycling spot considering the traffic congestion – some may be unsafe for bicycle.
If cycling is on your "to do list" when you are in Bali, below are some of popular spots for cycling in Bali.

1. Sanur Beach

One of the most popular beach to watch sunrise in Bali, Sanur becomes a perfect place to do fun family activities such as cycling. Come in early morning, ride your bicycle while watching sunrise and enjoy that breathe of fresh air. You may also rent bicycle for the entire family, and when you are with a toddler you can choose bicycle with toddler’s seat that makes it more convenient. Cafe or Local Warung are easily found around the beach area and you can purchase drinks/beverages to quench your thirst after a bicycle ride. 

2. Campuhan Hill Ubud

If you are going on a cycling trip in Ubud, don't miss the Campuhan Hill Ubud. This place seems hard enough to get if you are not familiar with Ubud area. The main hint is to look for Warwick Ibah Luxury Villa and follow the direction, where you go to the villa and head down until you see a school and temple (Gunung Lebah Temple). Head off to the right to begin the great bicycle track in Ubud.
You will probably spend 2 hours on bicycle. Early morning or late afternoon is the best time to come and enjoy the beautiful view.

3. Jatiluwih Rice Terraces

Located in Tabanan, Jatiluwih is the largest rice terraces in Bali and the area is known as rice production village in Bali. It is also listed in the UNESCO as a world heritage site. It can be your other options of cycling, particularly if you want to cycle through beautiful scenery of rice terraces and experience rural areas of Bali. Normally, cycling in Jatiluwih takes around 2 hours from morning to afternoon and about 17 km ride along amazing rice terraces and enjoy the fresh mountain air.  

4. Kintamani (Mt. Batur)

Located approximately 2.5 hours from Kuta area, the magnificent view of Mount and Lake Batur are the favorite spot for cycling. Mostly downhill ride from Kintamani area to Ubud, surrounded by green scenic and fresh air, through the villages, temples, rice terraces in Bali. As this area is located at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level, the cool weather added to the conveniences, it’s like a stroll as you don’t really have to paddle much. The decline will take care your paddle make sure to wear suitable clothes as you might easily catch cold.
