The latest addition to the Beachwalk shopping complex is Museum Kain, located on the 3rd Floor. Be immersed in the world of beautiful fabric and learn about the traditional batik of Indonesia at Bali's first textile museum.
The museum is the realization of a lifetime dream of Josephine W. Komara (Obin) and Roni Siswandi of BIN House, and features high-tech interactive displays, including touch-screen consoles in front of each piece of exhibited cloth.
61 rare pieces of various Batik cloths are on display, with copper batik printing blocks, canting wax pens and dried leaves used for coloring displayed in glass cases. The collections will be rotated every six months to accommodate Obin and Roni's collection of over 600 rare batiks.
Why not pop up to Museum Kain next time you're at Beachwalk for a dose of art and culture.
