Butterfly Globe Kopi Bali, is Indonesia’s premier gourmet coffee roaster. It has unique blends with distinct characteristics created from premium beans sourced throughout the islands of Indonesia.
Kopi Bali uses only high grade beans cultivated in the highlands of Bali, where volcanic soil and a cool climate provide a highly favourable environment for the arabica coffee tree.
The traditional way of processing coffee is to allow freshly handpicked beans to be laid out to dry in the sun. After up to two weeks of drying, the outer shells turn dark brown and brittle.
Butterfly Globe Kopi Bali is today Bali’s favourite coffee. Sold in grocery stores, supermarkets, or exclusively packaged for hotels and duty-free shops, Kopi Bali is the island’s best known home-grown product.
Actually, they produce several types of coffee, but on this blog, We will discuss the Best Seller coffee kinds, they are;
1. Butterfly Globe Original Arabica Luwak Coffee
2. Butterfly Globe Original Robusta Luwak Coffee
Now, we will explain to you about those varieties.
Coffea arabica is a species of Coffea originally indigenous to the forests of the southwestern highlands of Ethiopia. It is also known as the "coffee shrub of Arabia", "mountain coffee", or "arabica coffee"
Arabicas, on the other hand, have a very wide taste range (depending on its varietal). The range differs from sweet-soft to sharp-tangy. When unroasted, Arabica beans smell like blueberries. Their roasted smell is described as perfumey with notes of fruit and sugar tones.
Arabica coffee beans are fragile and must grow in cool, subtropical climates. Arabica beans also need a lot of moisture, rich soil, shade and sun. Because of their fragility, Arabica beans are vulnerable to attack from various pests and can be damaged by cold temperatures or poor handling. This type of bean also needs to be grown at a higher elevation (600-2000 meters).
Luwak Coffee, or Civet Coffee, it is made out of coffee cherries which have been eaten by and passed through the digestive tract of the Asian palm civet. After being collected, the coffee beans are hygienically processed and perfectly roasted for keeping the complex distinctive flavors.
In Butterfly Globe Brand, they are using Free Ranged civet, 100% wild, and chemical free.
There, at Kopi Bali The Butterfly Globe Brand have collected luwak arabica coffee beans from the highlands throughout the Indonesian archipelago to bring you a premium cup of coffee. This rare coffee is collected and processed to guarantee you an amazing coffee experience.
Robusta has a neutral to harsh taste range and is often likened to having an “oatmeal-like” taste. When unroasted, the smell of Robusta beans is described as raw-peanutty.
Robusta coffee beans come from a resilient plant that is able to be grown in low altitudes of 200-800 meters. Robusta beans aren’t very susceptible to damage done by pests. Additionally, they produce more finished product per acre and require fairly low production costs.
Kopi luwak is the world’s most expensive coffee. The main factor of it’s high price is the uncommon method of producing such a coffee. It has been produced from the coffee beans which have been digested by a certain Indonesian cat-like animal called then palm civet or also civet cat. This is the reason kopi luwak is also called cat poop coffee or civet cat coffee. The feces of this cat will be collected, finished and sold as kopi luwak.
