It is not Bali if only has the same things to see and few places to visit. A real Bali adventure begins in West Bali where lovely beach deer live as well as a well-preserved land to explore. An island popular over the world for the best dramatic dive wall, quite place to start loving nature, discover a home of thousands flora and fauna, and these you will find here that adorns your journey and reminds you Bali is a truly lovely place. This is a guide article if you wish to visit this wonderful place as soon as you could:

Getting there:

West Bali National Park can be reached by 4 - 4.5 hours’ drive from Kuta or Seminyak. As its location is on the Western Part of Bali this trip might consider as a long trip. But you should not think you will get bored on your way, as there are many unique things of Bali's life and culture can be seen. Departing from Kuta, Seminyak or others south part of Bali normally go through Jembrana to get the park. All of travelers should check in at (PHPA) for information at Labuan Lalang where boats to Menjangan island depart. When you are here, Menjangan island is close to you. To reach Menjangan island you should hire a motorboat from Labuan Lalang, it takes around 30-40 minutes.

It is not hard to get meals in this area, there are many stalls offering local foods around Labuan Lalang but when you visit the national park there are no food stalls inside, and you need to bring your mineral water while exploring this park as you will dehydrate quickly. If you wish you could have an excellent dining experience, you can take breakfast or lunch offered by The Menjangan Resort with its incredible 360o views. It is specializing in Mediterranean and Indonesian cuisine. Romantic dinner is also available in their Pan Tai Restaurant at beach front featuring fresh seafood dishes and a BBQ grilled.

You will not find many accommodations like in Kuta, Seminyak or other south Bali when you are here, the popular accommodations here are The Menjangan Resort, Plataran Menjangan Resort and Spa, Waka Shorea Resort, Menjangan Dynasty Resort, and Mimpi Resort Menjangan. Lower budget accommodation is also available but usually it is located on the road to Gilimanuk.

  1. 1. Snorkeling and Diving are becoming the main activities for travelers in this island. Menjangan island is well-known as snorkeling and diving paradise because of its beautiful wall-diving. Menjangan's south side is a famous spot for local people as well as travelers to dive for a variety of fish and coral reef exploration. A nice thing here is, there are no any dangerous currents to contend with in this area, so it is also suitable for beginners. 

If you are not keen having snorkeling and diving, there are also some nice things to do in national park: 

  1. 1.   Experience the bird watching with over 120 species of bird thriving in the national park and see the mascot of park, the Bali Starling that are rare and protected as they fight their way back from extinction.
  2. 2.   Other great experience is exploring the jungle on foot or jump on a bike by taking trekking and biking. Discover the quite Menjangan and find your own pace. An afternoon experience that you will never forget, monkeys are busy finding their lunch while lizard sunning their self on a warm rock, flora shows its own beauty as well as fauna welcoming you.
  3. 3.   Spend your great day by kayaking in the mangrove maze and explore the best view offered of the bay by your own.
  4. 4.   Ended up your day by horse riding in the beach and capture the incredible beauty of Menjangan on your late afternoon. 

PS: This place is also a kid-friendly island where they can play in the beach at low tide and see many animals living in it. Playing in the sand and take a glass boat to discover the beautiful marine life. Snorkeling also can be done by kids, just asking the snorkeling course provider to provide your kids wet suits and snorkeling equipment’s.
